Your Workplace Under the Obama Administration.
do you know how your workplace might change under the Obama administration? one of the big pieces of legislation that has the potential to pass into law that would have the greatest impact on the workplace is the Employee Free Choice Act. sounds like a nice piece of law, but watch below for some scoop.
some of my blogging colleagues have also written some good bitty's about the EFCA, so check out some of those pieces here, here, here, and really great stuff here. also, peep this presentation that was given in a webinar i dialed in to today given by some of the attorneys at Davis Wright Tremaine.
there's more to come on this topic so stay tuned - i'm not done talking about it!

Great post Jessica! I agree that HR pros and businesses don't understand the potential impact of EFCA on the way we do business and manage our employee relations. It could set us back decades.
What I find most interesting about the discussions I've seen posted on this issue is the focus on "here's how to deal with it" vs. "here's how to stop this law from being enacted". This does not have to be a "done deal". Last time I checked, we still have a voice with our Congressional representatives and Senators, and we should use it. We, as individuals can and should contact our reps and let them know the impact that this legislation will have on our organizations, our problems with the proposed legislation, and our own personal stories. Advocacy can be very powerful, and has a very important place in this issue. That's the other piece of this story that we need to get out there.
Keep talking about it!
